Medical Specialties
We offer information about Gorden Hospital’s specialized areas of treatment.
Spinal Endoscopy
Spine surgery using a micro endoscope involves minimal incisions and maximizes the
preservation of normal tissues, therefore, the most widely used method in spinal surgery.
This procedure preserves healthy tissues by making only minimal incisions through a micro endoscope.
Using the microscope, the surgical area is magnified up to 40 times to precisely remove herniated discs and ligaments.
Endoscopic Treatment
Real-time imaging through an endoscopic camera enables precise treatment.
Minimally Invasive
(under 1cm)
Skin incisions are kept minimal, leaving little to no scarring and avoiding nerve or tissue damage.
Safe Treatment Method
Physically low-impact, making it suitable for elderly patients or those with chronic conditions.
Quick Return to Daily Life
Small incision area allows for a faster recovery and return to normal activities.
PEN(Percutaneous Epidural Neuroplasty)
A non-surgical treatment that relieves pain and symptoms
by injecting medication into nerve areas affected by disc issues or spinal stenosis.
A special catheter, thinner than 1mm, is inserted through a small opening between the spinal bones. This catheter delivers muscle relaxants and separates adhesions between the spine and spinal canal.
Anti-inflammatory medications are also injected to reduce inflammation and release compressed nerves.
Local Anesthesia
A non-surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia.
Safe Treatment Method
Safe and applicable even for elderly patients or those with systemic conditions.
Quick Return to Daily Life
Since there is no incision, patients can quickly return to daily routines.
Short Procedure Time
The procedure takes only about 10 to 20 minutes.
Cervical Artificial Disc Replacement
Artificial disc replacement involves removing a damaged disc
and inserting an artificial disc between the vertebral bodies.
Artificial disc replacement involves removing a damaged disc and inserting an artificial disc between the vertebral bodies.
Instead of fusing the vertebrae with screws, a movable artificial disc is implanted to preserve spinal mobility after surgery.
This procedure treats symptoms caused by disc degeneration while maintaining the natural movement of the spine.
Anesthesia
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
Recovery Period
Patients can begin light walking with a brace the day after surgery.
Hospital Stay
Typically requires 2 to 5 days of hospitalization.
Surgery Duration
The operation takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Minimally Invasive Spinal Fusion
This procedure removes damaged bone and ligament tissue
and inserts an artificial cage to replace the disc, followed by fixation with screws.
Patients suffering from spinal stenosis or spondylolisthesis typically undergo decompression surgery to widen the narrowed spinal canal.
However, for patients with a wide range of nerve compression, more bone or joint must be removed, which may lead to spinal instability.
Anesthesia
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
Recovery Period
Daily activities are usually possible 1 to 2 weeks after surgery.
Hospital Stay
Typically requires 3 to 5 days of hospitalization.
Surgery Duration
Approximately 2 hours.
MAKO Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery
We enhance surgical precision and safety
with the highly accurate MAKO robotic joint replacement system.
Based on 3D imaging and advanced computer software, the system considers bone shape, position,
and alignment to pre-plan a personalized surgical approach.
A skilled orthopedic surgeon then uses the robotic system to precisely shape the bone and insert the artificial joint with accuracy and control.
Personalized Surgery
A customized surgical plan is created to match each patient’s unique anatomy.
Precise and Accurate
The robotic system shapes the bone, allowing for more accurate and precise surgery.
Quick Return to Daily Life
Minimal soft tissue damage allows for faster recovery and return to normal life.
Safe Treatment Option
With low physical strain, it is suitable even for elderly patients and those with chronic conditions.
